June 20th - Worship Night!
Howdy everyone! It’s Ava and Kalana again. Today was a very good and special day. It was our fourth day in the school, and we were there from 7 am to 9 pm. It is easy to say that God was at work for all 14 hours we were there.
We all had so many meaningful conversations and moments with the students today, and another one of us even had the blessing to see another student surrender their life to Jesus. Praise the Lord!
We began our day as usual, attending classes with the students and spending time with them during breaks. God has been so faithful by allowing us new opportunities to minister to both the unbelievers at the school, as well as by allowing us to encourage our fellow believers in their faith.
After the school day came our long anticipated L.A.M.P meeting! All week we have been inviting students to attend this after school event to join us in student-led worship and the teaching of the Gospel. Students arrived at the meeting at 6 pm, and it began with pizza and fellowship. Then, Abby, Kalana, Angeline, and Luke got to partner with some of the L.A.M.P leadership team to lead everyone in a powerful time of worship.
After that, Regan, Ava, and Samuel read key passages in John 3 and 4 to the group. Owen, Kalana, and Abby followed each scripture reading with a message they each prepared. It was so amazing to feel God’s presence washing over all of us in that room, and so cool to see our team stepping out in faith for the glory of God.
Thank you all so much for your prayers. God is moving here in Costa Rica, and we ask that you continue to pray for us on our final day here as we know that even in the short amount of time we have left, God can still change hearts and lives. Please pray that our final conversations and interactions with our newfound friends are fruitful and encouraging. Please also pray along with us for the student who gave his life to Jesus today!
