June 18th - Sharing Testimonies
Hey everyone! Luke and Angeline here.
Today was a fantastic day of relationship building and good spiritual conversations at the school! We woke up at the same time as Monday, arriving at the school a little before 7 AM. There, we first met with some students from the school’s Christian outreach group (LAMP) to work on planning devotions to give to some of the younger grades on Wednesday.
The rest of the school day was occupied in eating breakfast and lunch, going to school classes, and getting to know students and conversing about their faith and where they are spiritually.
There are two stories from the day that particularly encouraged our team as we debriefed our experiences this evening.
One of our team members gave her testimony in a school class. They were approached afterwards by a student, who, while strong in their faith and possessing an earnest desire to serve the Lord, struggles with loneliness, feeling left out, and not knowing where to find good friends. This student and our team member were able to bond very well over this but also cling to the truth that the Lord can satisfy and provide for what we need most.
It was powerful to realize that our testimonies can connect to student’s experiences and encourage them that God is faithful.
Another team member got to walk a student through the entire Gospel message, using verses from the Gospel of John and from Romans. This student, by God’s grace, had an open heart and accepted a Gospel booklet to read later. This encouraged our team and showed us that God is preparing the hearts of students to hear the Gospel. We also are seeing how powerful it is to ask students to read the Scripture and simply let it speak!
In summary, today was an overall very encouraging day for our team. We came back to our house right after school and rested up to prepare for the bulk of the week.
We didn’t get many pictures today, but we included one picture of our meeting with the leadership team and a couple of the three sets of pull ups that Paul did.
Stay tuned!
