This fall SWBIBLE Church will have the opportunity once again to provide shoeboxes packed with gifts that will be used by the ministry of Samaritan’s Purse to introduce children and their families to Jesus. Empty boxes will be available for pickup in the church lobby starting Sunday, October 22. Deadline for returning boxes to the church is November 12.
Why fill a shoebox? Because it is an amazingly simple opportunity to connect with those around the world who need to hear about Jesus’ love for them. Samaritan’s Purse ships every boxed gift via airplanes and boats, then the boxes travel by motorcycle, camel, donkey, elephant and canoe to connect with pastors and churches who create an outreach event and share the truth that Jesus offers eternal life to all. Each box carries a Gospel message for children in their own language, and if children want to know more about Christ, they are offered a 12-week discipleship course called The Greatest Journey hosted by trained national volunteers. The statistics and testimonies that come from this teaching are impressive: 1000 new churches are planted each year. Why not pack a shoebox?
