Counseling and Discipleship Training Conference

This conference is a ministry of the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (www.nanc.org) and hosted by Southwest Bible Church.

This conference is designed to train anyone from pastors and deacons to counselors and students how to use Scripture to counsel and disciple others. NANC is an organization that trains biblical counselors and certifies both individual counselors and biblical counseling training centers. Any growing Christian is welcome to attend one of two courses: Fundamentals of Biblical Counseling and Going Deeper. (Fundamentals must be completed before taking the Going Deeper course.) Each course consists of three weekends of training on:

February 22-23, 2008
March 14-15, 2008
April 11-12, 2008

Friday, 5-9:45 pm and Saturday, 8 am - 4:30 pm

Each course includes 3 weekends of training with lunches, a training notebook, lectures and refreshments.

Costs: $245 Individual, $395 Married Couple, $195 Full-time student, $150 NANC Members

Registration

Register online at www.nanc.org before February 11, 2008 to avoid a $30 late fee! Registration is not available at the Southwest Bible Church office. It is solely through the NANC website or you may fill out the registration form in the Counseling and Discipleship Conference Brochure and mail it to NANC. All mailed registrations must be postmarked by February 11 to avoid a $30 late fee.

Hotel Information/Conference Group Rates

All conference attendees must call the Phoenix Inn Suites directly to make their own room reservation. Just mention that you are with the NANC Conference to get the conference group rate on your room reservation. For more information click here.

Lunches and Snacks at the Conference

A delicious boxed lunch from Great Harvest will be provided each Saturday. Sandwich choices will be turkey, ham and roast beef. In addition, there will be seven snack breaks per weekend. Coffee, tea, water, cookies and fruit will be available during these snack breaks. We cannot make special arrangements for food allergies or dietary preferences, so please bring your own supplementary food items if you have special dietary needs.

Critical Friday Night Travel Tips: 1) Leave EARLY as Portland traffic is very crowded on Friday nights on all major freeways and highways and it might take you longer than you think to navigate your way to Southwest Bible Church. 2) Avoid Scholls Ferry Road on Friday night. For directions to this shortcut on Hall Blvd. from 217, read on if it is not clear on the map at the previous link: If you are going South on 217, take exit 4A onto Hall Blvd. Go RIGHT on Hall Blvd. Then turn LEFT onto Greenway Blvd (you'll see an Albertson's on your left). Follow map as indicated in previous link. If you are coming North on 217, take Exit 5 to Greenburg Rd. Turn RIGHT onto Greenburg Rd. Then turn LEFT onto Hall Blvd (you'll see an Albertson's on your left) and then follow the map as indicated in the previous link.
